I closed my old bank account today and the branch manager was super friendly. She really understood what I was going through. She assured me that my account is closed with a hard ACH debit block and that no debit will reopen my account. She opened a new account for me. I've read on here that it is possible for the PDL companies to get my new account information? How do they do this? And how can I avoid this happening. I am about to start debt consolidation.

The way they most often get it is when you apply for a new payday loan.

Many of these companies, especially the illegal ones, are sister companies or dba.

So you apply for a new pay day loan which is really tied to a company you took an old loan at and boom they have your info and clear out your new account.

Talk to your bank about this.

These pdl companies also get your account information by sending you loan offers and application form. After receiving this mail, you may fill up the form and apply for the loan. Then after you may find out that the loan offer was actually from a payday loan company.
These pdl companies come up in different business names. Thus, you may get fooled by the names and may unknowingly give them your account information by applying a loan through them.
