National Recovery Services/Cash Banc
Date: Wed, 02/04/2009 - 05:21
Has anyone dealt with National Recovery Services? They called and told me they are collecting on a past due PDL for Cash Banc. I live in Missouri. I borrowed $500 and they say I still owe $1015. I did pay the principal amt. They told me I have to pay or they will "assign my wages" and when I said that Cash Banc isn't legal in my state and that the Division of Finance told me I didn't need to pay them anymore, the person on the phone laughed and said that wasn't true...She then offered to settle my acct for 615. What should I do? Thanks.

And to add to paul's post I'd even contact DFI.. and let them know they are trying to collect on this. Did you keep all communication w/ DFI? I would forward everything I had to Dfi, and let them handle it as well.

Thanks paul.. i'm currently dealing with DFi as well for some place called FMS... I had an e-mail stating that they removed all my numbers from their database, and when I complained to DFI they told them couldn't find my info (well duh probably cuz you deleted my numbers) and said it was for another place, which it really wasnt. They closed my case due to the fact that after the complaints they stopped calling, but seems to have started again. So i sent another e-mail yesterday after I received the call at work, and they KNEW it was a business because they asked for it, an d before I could ask for an address they quickly hung up.

And with an answer like that, the CA basically calling the Dept of Finance liars, it is obvious that they are violating the FDCPA by misrepresenting the facts. File a complaint with the FTC immediately.

NRS contacted me 3 weeks ago. I sent a certified letter asking for their license number in AL, a validation of the debt etc.... I've never received confirmation that they received the letter.
I'm just playing the waiting game.
They haven't contacted me any in the last 3 weeks and never by phone. A little scary.
