Once I pay whatever I owe to them, does that mean I should be automatically removed from their list? or is there a period (like credit marks) that will last for a while on your record?

pdlhell, it really depends on the bank, others you have to call and ask that your chexsystems account be updated Some will remove the mark, but what will more than likely happen is the account will be marked "paid". Keep in mind that some banks only report to chexsystems once a month.
