what type of debt management program are you looking for debt settlement? or debt consolidation?
if you go through debt settlement your accounts will go into collection any how. The problems you may have through debt settlement is that they may still try to contact you, and harrass you. The possibility is there to that also they will try to sue you. This usually does not happen right away, but it can. So my suggestion is using a debt settlement program to put forth everything you got to pay it off as soon as possible to avoid a possible judgement. your credit score will go down the crapper until the program is done, but is easily restored afterwards(as long as your good with your new and exsisting accounts)
consolidation on the other hand im not sure if its too late or not to join alot of times consolidation is before you get too diliquent. but there really is not any problems with consolidation other than that you will pay on it for a long period of time. I hope this helps!

Consolidation--it's not to late I've contacted a "CCCS" type agency and they can take us. The issue was PDL's. Last year we got in over our heads, I had to stop paying everyone else to get all the loans taken care of. Now I'm left with a big mess. We have brewed over this for many, many months. We looked into settlement, Chapter 13 BK, and debt management. After long discussions we have decided to go with debt management.
We tried debt management about a year ago, however again due to the PDLs we could not keep up. We finally have our monthly living expenses under control and are on track, so we can now meet the debt management payment.
Most all of our credit card accounts have been sent to collection agencies. I really was wanting to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation. I hear that often collection agencies sell debt back to the OC or to different collection agencies, I was wondering if you are sending them payments and they sell the debt how that would work. Also if anyone had been sued and lost when going through debt management.
I can't imagine a judge ruling for a judgement/garnishment when you are showing good faith payments, Thanks Reny
