You can't go to jail for a debt espescially if the collector is from overseas and is operating illegally to begin with. Just keep hanging up and they will eventually go away. I guess the guys from Heathmills group got new jobs over there in the UK

Has anyone ever had money taken from their account. They seem to have this information. And do they ever leave you alone?

yankz27, If your concerned about them taking money out of your account, close it before they can, and open up a new one.

Eventually they will give up.

Thanks. My bank says I cannot close the account because there is a car loan linked to it, and they said that they would put an alert on my account because of this. They did not give me the account number or anything, they just asked if "xxx" is where I bank and they were correct. I do not owe any pdl's any money either so I don't know where they got the information from.

yankz27, talk to the branch manager, not some Customer Rep. I dont' see why you wouldn't be able to close your account. All they would have to do is transfer your car loan to the new account.

These people are nuts. I got about 12 calls today on my work phone. Finally a co-worker suggested that I forward the call to the campus police (I work at a University). So far they haven't called back since they spoke with the campus police - of course, I'm not holding my breath. Normally I wouldn't even speak to them, but today they kept calling and calling and calling. You can't talk any sense with these people so it's no use to try.

If I were you, I would transfer my bank account just in case they would try to take money.

I just got two more calls from the same number, two different people within minutes of each other. They had no idea the other one called. It is impossible to understand them, I just told them I have not been arrested yet like they promised and that they should stop calling me. have been getting harrassing phone calls from a Foreign man claiming to have filed a case against me and threatening to have them come pic me up at my place of employment. I have received several calls, I was so afraid at first of loosing my job that I actually paid one of them $1125.00. But shortly after that I received another phone claiming the same thing. I started doing so investigation and found out that I never did a payday loan with any of the companies they mention. I am tellin my story so that people will be away, this is a skam. Hang up with this people., and especially if they can not provide you with documentation do pay them anything, and don't be afraid like I was in the beginning

Caydel - did they actually give you the name of the companies? From the one time I did speak with them, they would not give me ANY information - only said 'just listen to me'. I wish someone would shut them down. I'm not afraid of their threats, but I am concerned when they keep calling my work number.

I have been recieving harrassing calls of this nature as well.They said they were going to have me arrested.They did call the nursing supervisor at my job.They are very diffiult to understand. I told them I was calling the FTC and the attorney general. Then one of them called back and was like dont even worry about this, just forget about it.Now I noticed they called today, but have blocked there number now. I just hope they do not call my employer again.

yankz27, if you can avoid answering their calls (if you see their number come up on caller id, ingore it) eventually they will give up. The more you answer the phone, the more they will try and call. I believe somoene in another post stated they have a some kind of dialier that predicts voices etc, and when someone picks up the phone. So you stay in their "queue" longer.

You could also file complaints against them w/ your states AG/States Dfi.. and that might actually stop the calls.

Hi everyone. The same EXACT thing happened to me today. 4 ppl with an Indian accent called me and my best friend claiming we would be arrested and taken to court by 11am tomorrow morning. They had all our information and they read me some affidavit claiming I recieved a payday loan online from there company. So I called all our courts in DC and no one had a recorded of me coming to court. BUT what they don't know is that I am a Police Officer for Washington, DC so I will be reporting them to our internet fraud department and the FBI!!
