When I come home from work everyday, I look at my caller ID and I see that HSI Financial (collection agency for northside hospital) has called 4 times. One day I decided to answer and guess what was on the other end? A RECORDING!!! Why would a collection agency have a recording try to call us instead of a human being? When I answered the phone, they said "please call HSI" (blah, blah, blah). I said to myself, I'm not about to call a collection agency back because a human being was too lazy to pick up the phone and call us themselves. That's stupid, asking people to call them back like that. Does anyone know why that particular collection agency can call 4 times a day as opposed to Allied Interstate (collection agency for emory healthcare) only calling once a day? That doesn't make any sense.

It is an auto dialer that records when you do answer to give them a time when you are most likely to be home. Wait and see if a live person calls at the same time soon.
You can send them a cease and desist letter and tell them to communcate only by mail and the calls must stop under the FDCPA.

They go overboard. Gwinnett Medical Center reports you even if you have been out of the hospital for a month. I never chose to ignore the bill. Gwinnett Medical Center received ove $16,000 from my insurance company and stuck HSI on me for $1100. I have sent them amounts varying from $5 to $50. I send what I can every month. They still call me every day.

I have been turned over to collections by Morton Plant Hospital. My insurance paid them 80K. I have a collector trying to get 1500. I am sending them a letter that I am still fight the insurance company and this is between them and the hospital and me and the third party collector will not be recognized, If you call the hospital they may have an agency in place to help you with the unpaid bill. They are sending me a form to fill out.
