I'd do two things. First send a copy of the release to the CA by fax (if you have the number) AND certified mail (to prove you sent it.) Then call NetCashUSA and demand that they call of the dogs from their end too.

Banks try to keep you from doing this because they want you to pay them for stop payment orders instead. Don't be afraid to just close the account and file a complaint against your bank with your state's banking department for violating the Electronic Funds Transfer Act.

i had a loan with net cash usa, i didn't pay them on time but I do want to clear up the $600 debt. I got a call from a law firm stating they were pressing charges against me for check fraud. I still have the same checking account and bank, i committed no fraud. Can they do that?

Well if you obtained the loan with an "open and active" checkings account, and it remained open. Thar is not fraud. Plus a debt is a civil matter not a criminal offense.

Now what you want to do is request a debt validation of all charges and fees from that law firm, probably a collection agency calling you.
