Wrong Account number

Hi everyone
I got another account with Bank of America. I owed them $11000. They sent to a collection company called NCO Financial System Inc. However, the account # they are going after me is a wrong account #. Do I still owe them money? The first 8 digits are correct. However, the last 8 digits were all in-correct. I already sent this info to my settlement company and see what they say. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

im having the same problem with too.. a bank of america account
im having the same problem with too.. a bank of america account which i owe roughly 11000 but now its entrusted to midland which seem to have passed it to cohen and slamowitz. they offered me a letter of settlement at 50% but the account number is also off . to top it off the settlement offer is till the 25th of this month. so im not even sure what to do with that.

on a side note i found out that sometimes the account numbers on the credit reports are often scrambled for your protection. so my question is where are you pulling the card number from.. is it from the credit report? or is it from an old statement or the actual card. ?
