I had a loan with PayDay One that I keep receiving notices on. Yes, I took out a loan. No, the full amount wasn't paid back.

Long story short, my finanical troubles got the best of me and in the mid-part of '08 I filed for Chapter 7 along with my spouse and for the 2nd half of '08 dealt with no outside collectors or agencies during the filing because of the court ordered stay. In December my case was discharged and closed. About the middle of January I started receiving e-mails from the lender (PDO) about the outstanding amount.

The first offer was for 50% off the amount owed. The 2nd offer, one that I received via e-mail again yesterday, was for 60% off the amount owed. Usually when I've been approached with settlement offers from creditors in the past, the offers were withdrawn after 10 working days or something similar.

I try to contact PDO but when I do they say that they cannot speak with me because the account is notated with a Bankruptcy on file. I'm put on hold for an indefinite period of time before I am eventually disconnected. When I go to the site to view my account, the only option I have is to pay the full non-negotiated amount.

Any advice?
