Hello,

Now that I've canceled with useless Langhorne, I am dealing with the PDLs myself. I would greatly appreciate help/advice with the following companies who have started calling.

500fastcash:

I borrowed $500 and made 4 payments of $150. I live in California, and my understanding is they are illegal and I only owe principle. Therefore, I have overpaid. I have emailed them this information and said that if they continue contacting me, I will pursue a $100 refund. I would like to mail them a certified letter - does anyone have an address? Also, am I correct with the information above?

Unitedcashloans:

I understand they are the same company as 500fastcash. I borrowed $500 and made no payments. I spoke with their collections guy and he said I owe $830. I said I owe only $500 because they are illegal in CA. He said they are an internet lender and not subject to state law. I said he is incorrect. He said I should get an attorney and hung up.

I am willing to pay the $500 over installments but he didn't give me the opportunity.

What is your advice on this one? I feel like I should send them a certified letter as well. Does anyone have the address?

Finally, does anyone know how I can file a complaint with CA attorney general? I want to do that ASAP.

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

As far as 500fastcash, yes they are illegal. They can be relentless in trying to get you to pay more then what you owe, call every day sometimes multpul times a day regarless of whether or not you tell them not to. I have had success with getting them to stop contacting me with an daily e-mail complaince@500fastcash.com.

If they respond to CA DFI or Attorney General I will be really suprised. Mine said they must think they are above the law. And no, your state laws trump theirs (but they will tell you differently as you have seen)
