I was laid off back in the summer, and I have 43K in credit card debt, I have been paying everything in time, to do that I had to move in with my parents :roll:
I make $1500, which goes all towards minimum payments. I have been like this since the summer and I just can't continue.
My parents are willing to help me out with 10K in cash, ONLY if my debt can be settled. Is that even possible?

CHASE: 7K
HSBC: 3k

I am worn out and getting tired but I always look back and say " I had no other choice other than BK" If that is where you are at then quit paying and hold on for around 120 - 150 days past. The only advice I will give is go see a BK attorney and see what CH you can go. Just have an out in case nothing goes right. BOA I settled for 20% Amex was tough and settled with NCO for 40% and Chase was great 30% with 4 payments. No expierence with HSBC. As long as you have legit hardship things will work out. I also just crossed the IRS with insolvent forms? Good luck and things will work out.
