Laugh for Everyone - Discover Told Me to Get A Husband!

I'm was speaking with a customer rep at Discover about settling my account. During the conversation this rep actually told me to get a husband to pay the account off! And if that didn't work, I should go bankrupt because Discover doesn't settle! I just had to laugh which caught her off guard. I've got this on tape so when I need a laugh, I'll just replay the tape.
Hope everyone gets a chuckle out of this. :lol:

Wow, that is pretty funny. But yeah, Discover is generally uncooperative. When my mom had around $20k of credit card debt in a debt management program, Discover (and Sears) refused to accept the program or to work with her at all. (She ended up filing Ch. 7.)
And on top of that, it's really really odd for them to suggest bankruptcy. Strange one, that.

I've been talking with Discover for a while now. They want me to sign up for a hardship program since I'm still employed but I can't fit their plan into my budget. I think charge off will be at the end of March so I'll just keep offering to settle.

discover does settle, they did for me during my settlement program they say they wont but they will. They flat out told me they dont deal with settlement companies. but they do. They drag thier feet awhile but will settle.
or you could just put a ad in your flea market "looking for shot gun husband to pay debt, must have money, and no debts of his own, and be willing to pay mine please respond to the newspapers office"
