My husband & I are in a financail whirlwind with pdl's - we have talked to the pdl's stores about trying to pay off the loans in a smaller amounts... we just can not keep going this way. There is almost no money after paying bills, the loans, etc... we are very behind... I have read on several blog sites that best thing to try to get out of the pdl's is to close your checking account and try to make payment arrangements with each store. Can i get some advice about the laws in AZ about closing a checking account?

Keep in mind that most store front lenders are licensed and legal to lend. Many of them in AZ (I am from AZ) offer an extended payment plan which means the interest stops and you make 4 equal payments. For example if you borrowed $500 you most likely owe $587.50 or roll it over for 87.50. With the plan you would take $587.50 divided by 4 and make the payment on your payday as usual. If I can help you in any way please let me know.
