Can Settlements Be Made If You Are Current?

don't know of any that will do that.the best i can come up with is maybe a hardship,but no creditor will settle while your current.

Unfortunately no. If you think about it, why would they? They would love it if you paid the minimum amount for many many years. There has to be a threat to them that you may walk away and pay nothing.

No, I've sent my creditors numerous letters threatening lawsuits and asking for settlement, but they just ignored them because I was current.

as long as you keep paying they will say that you are currently making the payment therefore you can afford it. even though you cant. its one of the bad things about settlement. you have to prove you cant pay it by not paying it.

Famous saying comes to mind .... "You can't have your cake and eat it too" ...
