I have a loan with payday services which i have already defaulted on... I spoke with them today advising them that they are not legal in Tx and that I would be willing to pay the principle only. They told me that they are legal in TX and that the only way I could get away with paying the principle only is if I got something from my state attorney general office stating that I did not have to pay interest... does this sound right?

Since you have already taken the loan under a written agreement, you are liable to pay off the debt along with the interest you have agreed upon. If you do not pay it off, the creditor may report it in your credit report, which may lower your credit score. Moreover as Phoenix said, if the pay day loan companies operate under the cover of Credit Service Organizations, they are legal in TX.

when i had talked to the lady about the loan I told her that they were illegal and she said because they are an internet payday service that they are legal in tx. I do want to pay on this loan but she wont let me do a money gram she said they needed a credit card and told me to go get a prepaid card to pay it. I dont want to do that i closed out my bank account to help me manage my money. Is there a reason why i cant do a money gram?

that's fine, but the BBB isn't an indication of legality.there could be a payday services that isn't a loan place.all i know is that if you look at the TX DFI,AG,or BANKING websites payday services does not come up as registered or licensed in any form.i have dealt with this place and the vegas address applies and works.because i sent my letters there and haven't heard a thing since.
