Quick Bank Freeze question!

who put a freeze on your account? IRS? a CA? was it for a judgement?

a judgement. can they put a hold on a new bank account in a new state even though the judgement isnt in the new state?

I'm not 100% sure...I think they can if they can find it.

Is the judgement valid...meaning did you actually get sued or did you find out about it b/c they froze your account?

i was sued. this account is enrolled thru credit solutions which advised me wrong, hence the judgment! so now im stuck dealing w/ this on my own basically. I'm about to work up a payment letter and fax it to them to see if they will accept what I can pay. I just need to know if I need to take my name of the new account.

Yes, they have been known to.

They would have to go to court in the new state and get an order by a court of competent jurisdiction. One states court cannot compel a person or a business of another state to do something unless the home state authorizes it.

I would avoid using any National Banks (BofA, Wells Fargo, etc.).
