Hello all;
I am trying to get a feel for what BofA is doing these days in the way of debt settlement. I know they used to be around 20% payable within 6 installments. Anyone settle with them recently, and could you give details?
Thanks!

I settled B of A accounts for 15 cents on the dollar. They are desperate.

Hi, Sunnymay,

Thanks for your reply to my question on unsecured debt in default & NC move.

We settled a $3514.78 balance with them in 2008 with 3 consecutive monthly payments that totaled $530 @ $177, $177, $176. That was 15cents on the $1. My husband negotiated the debt himself but our debt settlement advisor made it official and we appreciated his attention to details. We opened a separate bank account for all settlement funds and make deposits into it to pay out of so they can't get to our main checking account funds.

Hope this helps.

Kirsten, quick question. How long did you go without paying on the BOA cc before they accepted your settlement offer? I am going to negotiate my settlements myself and I know the sticky thing is knowing when to start trying to settle. Too soon and they will not work with you and too late and you are in collections. Thanks for any tips you can offer.
