Payday laon problems
Date: Fri, 02/27/2009 - 09:00
I am in PA. Most of the loans worked just fine and were paid off in a short time. Presently I have a few that I thought should be paid off but according to them I have only been paying finance fees.
Titan group I owed 200 on. I have paid $660 they say I still owe 200.
SJM (don't even remember this one) I owed $300 on it and I have paid 1100. They say I still owe 300.
GECC I owed 300 and have paid over 900 but I now owe less than 70 on it.
My biggest cash supply I owed 200 and paid 590. I still owe close to 100.
USFASTCASH I have paid 350 on an original loan of 250.
East Side Lenders I have paid a bunch on a 200 loan but it is finally down to 75 left to pay.
What can I do? They take too much moeny from my account and two of them aren't going down at all.
Should I close my bank account? How do I stop the reoccurring fees? Can I pay off the ones that have been in repayment but stop titan and SJM who have taken huge amounts over what was owed but applied none of the money t the account?
SW2009 I completly understand where you are coming from, I also
SW2009 I completly understand where you are coming from, I also am dealing with pay day loan hell. First step is listen to the moderators on this board as they will give you great advice. What I did was first check the legal status of the pay day companys and than called all of them up and got fax numbers and mailing addresses, than I sent out cease and desist letters and demanded a refund for the amounts that I over paid from the companys that were illegal and threatened legal action. The legal ones I sent out cease and desist letters and set up payment arrangements for any amounts that I had not paid previously. But you should definitly close your bank account and if that is not possible due to deposits coming in, than request from the bank manager to place your account on a deposit only status. Be honest with the bank manger and they will help you. Mine did and I bank with Bank of America. The Bank is also looking into fraud charges against the illegal companies also. Good Luck :)
Payday loans are prohibited in PA but I think there is some loop
Payday loans are prohibited in PA but I think there is some loop hole they get around.
I will do some checking to see if I can find the whole story.
Hang in there.
I know there are several members that have delt with payday loans in PA and they may be a long as well.
I believe the loophole is that if a company is licensed anywhere
I believe the loophole is that if a company is licensed anywhere they can lend in PA and you would need to go by those states laws.
I will check to see if any of the companies you listed are licensed anywhere
So far I h ave found out that SJM and USFastCash are not license
So far I h ave found out that SJM and USFastCash are not licensed in PA or anywhere. SJM owes you a refund of $800 and USFASTCASH owes you a refund of $100. I am working on the other companies. 2 of them might be licensed in DE, but I have to check further and I can't find anything about Titan, I'm thinking that they might not be licensed.
wow
Not licensed! Geesh these companies have been ripping me off all this time! The main issue I have is with the two that have NEVER paid anything towards the balance. Until recently I haven't even gotten information from them. I called one and was told that it is in the info that I recieved.. I checked my emails and there are discrepancies.
These two loans were from last summer and were an attempt to get into a vehicle after a car accident.
