Has anyone used Express Debt Settlement or heard anything about them?

Although I can't comment on Express Debt, I would suggest to you that you do your research before signing up with any company. Also, there is alot of information on this site about doing debt settlement on your own. Have you thought about doing it yourself. The fees these companies charge is very high and that money could go towards paying off your debt. Just something to think about.

I went with another debt settlement company and I regret it. I did not find this site until it was too late.

phoenix has a great post, as i mentioned before the only thing i would ad is this:

1, besure they dont outsource your account it will be hard enough to deal with without having to track down your account make sure your account is with them and them only

2. how long they have been in business with proven track record. new companies havent established enough clients yet to know how well they work or they may be a former scammy place that changed thier name for a clear record.

3. besure they have good customer service who will be handling your account and how can i get in touch with them if i have a question

4. They should answer the tough questions honestly. most companies dont like to answer questions like can i get sued? but they should answer yes no matter if they beat around the bush. If they lie run. How will you ever be able to trust them with your accounts if they lie off the bat? ask them alot of questions that are tough for them to answer. Like can my creditors still call? (yes, although it should slow them down).

If you follow phoenix list, and these suggestions you should be on your way to finding a good company.

good luck!

I know alot of forum moderators here can find this information I am too new to know were they are getting it from. But i have seen posts were they claim that company X used to be Company B that was ranked badly by bbb, and ripped people off. Maybe when they see this post they will let you know.

Usually most of these companies are posted in these forums somewere you just have to search. If its not make a new posting. The moderators are very informed here so you can take there information as serious and genuine

has anyone done buisness with this company. I actually gave them a voided check but had it cancelled today when I could not find them anywhere on my computer. They tell you to go to debtrem.com but they are not debtrem.com. It just did not make sense to me. It is the last and only time I give any company a voided check. no one will protect me when I get screwed. They also said check on some tasc website and they are not even on it!! Go figure I owe money and some jerks want to steal the rest of what I have.

I'm sure that the above posts would give you the idea about how to pick the debt settlement company. Please go through those before deciding about taking the help.

However, IMO it's always better if you can handle the situation yourself. First, try to find out whether or not you can take care of your debts yourself or need professional help to do so.

Avoid this type of letter at all costs. According to the BBB in OK, this is not a government agency, but an actual company trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. Here's the link to the News Letter they posted on their website.

NewsOn6 - newson6.com/Global/story.asp?S=10719417

They tell you one thing, but don't provide and their advertising practices are very unethical.

I would also NOT recommend Christian Debt Services located in Florida, i tried to do business with them about 5 years ago and they started to collect my money but failed to make payments to my credit cards and I found out 2 months later when my credit card company kept calling me...then I tried to talk to someone and their answers were very negative, they would put me on hold or hang up the phone, I left message for a so called supervisor who never returned my calls....I cancelled it the program but my credit was ruin since it had a 90 days period where I did not make any payments...needless to say I lost that money the debt company took from me...

I used them and very happy that I did! They aren't one of those rip off debt settlement companies that have flooded that marketplace as of late. They're more like debt educators. I got ripped off by some company called Credit Solutions a while back! I found out about this company from a co-worker and and called. They are a no nonsense consulting firm. The beautiful thing is that they educated and empowered me to contact my creditors and work out payment plans on my own. I guess you can say that they took the fear out of responding to the phone calls. The most beautiful thing about all of this, they did not charge me a dime! I recommend that if you're having a problem, don't hesitate to contact them.

I refer them to everyone I know who have been mislead or having debt problems. If the other company's conducted business like Linbrook & Associates the financial industry would be a better place. They don't encourage that you to avoid the collection efforts, they stress the importance of being proactive to prevent from having a lawsuit filed against you.
