I got a letter from them today asking for full payment of a credit card debt. The debt is about $4000.The letter said they had made the decision to initiate litigation against me.I'm not really sure what this means. Will they sue us? Will they garnish our wages or take our money from our bank accounts?? They even said to use my tax refund to pay them off. I don't have $4000 to pay them off or i would of paid already. What should i do???

To help us we need to know which state you are from and which law firm or agency has sent you the letter.

In certain states they can garnish your wages, place a lien on your house, or go after your checking account and in some states it's a different story. If you are sure this is your debt it might not hurt to ask about payment plan options.
