SO what is the process for initiating the EPP?
Do I close the checking accounts first, then initiate the EPP?
I have heard horror stories where the PDL's have drafted all the funds when they got wind of someone trying to payoff through EPP or a Debt Consolidation company.

I would contact the storefronts BEFORE your loan becomes due and let them know you want to do this. If they say they can't for some reason, find out if they are in the CSFA, and if they are, get a number for their corporate offices and let them know about it.
There are some storefront managers who just don't want to do it and tell people they can't--even though corporate says they can, so don't take that initial no for an answer.

Here is a list of the members.

CFSA is Community Financial Services Association of America. They help companies comply with the best lending practices. Being a member means the company follows their rules.

The one thing about Texas though is the store fronts may be acting as CSO, Consumer Service Organizations, and if that is the case the EPP is not available.

Here is the link to the Texas CSO database.
