I received a call from this number last week; a man with an extremely heavy Indian accent asked for "Ivy; I told him no one by that name lived at my address. He asked if my phone number was (my number), I said yes, but no one named Ivy lived there and I'd been at that address for years. He got very abusive and I hung up. I did some "googling" on this number, also checked this website and apparently it's a GC Services Collection agency and apparently they deal mostly w/ credit card debt? I don't have any credit card problems but I was wondering, are they connected with any PDL's as well? The only PDL that still bothers me is United Cash Loans, I didn't know if these companies were connected in any way or if GC Services is just trying to scam some money out of me?

places like this buy or obtain information from pdl's legal or illegal.i would not talk to him again.it sounds like he was phishing for info.i would file an FTC complaint though.

Agreed. I received a call from a strange number offering to lower my credit card debt. I have no credit cards, so I deleted the message. These companies are known as "Phishers" as PAUL stated above. Once they convince you into believing their scam. They will sell any information that you provide to them. Ignore, Ignore, Ignore, no worries :wink:

Some of the "phishers" are a bit more obvious than others, aren't they? I was just wondering, since I HAD the PDL's, if maybe this outfit was somehow connected to any of them. I've also had the calls offering to lower my credit card debt, credit card interest, etc.
