i spoke too soon, they called my work today. i have a new cell phone number and my old one was shut off. He said he was from the United States Law Enforecment and left my social security number on my co-workers' answering machine! He said I will be getting a shocking surprise! lol sorry that made me laugh. but seriously how can i report these jerks?

i reported them to the NJ attorney general but i know they do not do too much. i really do not know what else to do :(
update: the attorney general wrote back and said they are forwarding this to the FTC. What is this?!?! I do not know who they are and why they are bothering me, I really want to cry..

it's for a payday loan he is rambling on right now, loans are not legal in my state but this is crazy! he said he is with BNG loan company and he will send the sheriffs after me with an arrest warrant. he said it's my final notification (yea right its been my final notice for the past three months!)
how can i get this to stop?

The only way to do something is hit them where it really hurts, in their wallet. Unfortunately there is probably no way of finding out where they are or who they are.

Next time they call have a guy friend pose as a detective and threaten them with a lawsuit and federal crimes if they ever call again. Also tell them that by giving out your social security number to another person is Federal Crime and the person violating that law can get up to 10 years in prison,,,,,, I think that is the penalty I forgot.

I told them all this! they are so stupid, they said i took a loan with BNG. who is BNG? they also said they are hired by the federal agents, sheriffs department and attorney general. i told them i reported them to the attorney general and i am considering reporting them to the FBI as well. They said they will issue me an arrest warrant with the sheriff's department. the ironic part is that i work for the sheriff's department! seriously, the number they keep harrasing is the sheriff's department and there seems to be nothing that will work. i had an officer tell him to stop calling he is a scam. he said it is all a matter of perception! i do not know what to do. my work thinks it's a joke (i work in civil, like the office portion of it). someone said to file a police report with my local police station but will that even help? my office here does not handle things like this so that will not even help..

This has nothing to do with any debt. This is a scam run out of India that is all over the Internet. I called them and "Officer Michael Smith" (of the Mumbai Smiths) even found a "case number" on me!!!

I was told that the phone call was being recorded and a copy of the conversation was being sent to the Attorney General of my State and my County Law Enforcement. I am sure the AZ Attorney General and Pima County Sheriff is just waiting with bated breath). I am being accused of the following:

Check Fraud
Bank Fraud
Breach of Contract
Theft by Deception.

I was given an opportunity to go out and buy a pre-paid debit card for $375 and call them back so I could take care of this out of Court.

If I failed to do this, the list of threats was amazing:

1. My Social Security Number would be blocked and I would not be able to get a credit report
2. My Social Security Number would be flagged and I would not be able to get any credit
3. I would be fired from my job
4. I would not be eligible to work in the US for 6 months
5. I would not be eligible for any Government benefits of any kind until this was paid
6. I would have to hire TWO attorneys to defend me in the upcoming Court proceedings
7. An Arrest warrant was being downloaded to the Pima County Sheriff
8. If I lost in Court I would have to report to the local prison for incarceration.
9. I could avoid all that if I send them $375

I never had such fun....

thanks everyone, i had a feeling i never had a loan with these jerks, though they probably have gotten my info from applying for a payday loan.
i do not intend on sueing (i doubt that would be possible), I just want them to stop calling me :(
it is pretty funny, though. he said shockingly bad things are waiting to happen to me at my home. lol i laughed for a good twenty minutes!

frogpatch said it so i will too.do not even talk to them.they are demented.if you talk to them even to mess with them they get some crazy idea that eventually you will pony up.just hang up on them and don't say a word.eventually they will move on.talking to them in any way only invites more calls.end the cycle now.it may take awhile since you have spoke to him,but in the end with some patience they will go away.

bea2ls - have you gotten any more calls from them? I have had Officer John McCain (gee I feel honored) call me this week. He calls my cell phone and my work phone. I work at a University, so we refer the work calls to the campus police. The investigator here called the number back and literally got in the guys face - supposedly my social security number was going to be blocked and I was being downloaded to the sheriffs dept. Guess it didn't happen since I'm still here and he is still calling. The investigator was going to file complaints with the FBI and the BBB - I have filed a complaint online with the internet complaint division - not sure how much good any of it will do. But I did get the name of the Voice over IP that they are using to call through and forwarded that info - I wish someone would shut them down and we could all file charges against them!

They just called me and almost had me sending a fax in stating that I would agree to pay it off and I really know I did not take out a loan as they say I did in 2009, but after reading what you all had to say I am so glad I did not, thanks to you all for the most needed and appreciated information you have provided, I will call and change my phone number so I won't get these upsetting phone calls. I wish all the best. But they getting new #'s this one is 052-797-815 this not even a real phone number, WoW!
