My husband and I have been using Credit Solutions for our credit card debt. When we placed everything we had 21000.00 in debt. We have been with them now since August 2008 so a little over 6 months. We recently settled our first card, it was Juniper bank, for 25%. I was super happy with that and hopeful that the rest of the cards would start giving us good settlements. We have 5 remaining after the Juniper card. I'm just getting a little more nervous now as it's been over 6 months and I dont want to be sued.

My Questions are:

1) we have 2 cards that are thru capital one. Has anyone settled with them recently? I found some responses from a while back but nothing recently.

2) How do I make the phone calls quit from the CA's? One of our cards has been transferred to NCO financial (Cap 1 card) and one is Enhanced Recovery corp (HSBC card).

3) Has anyone else had experience with Credit Solutions? I don't have anything negative to say about them at this point because we did get a very good settlement from Juniper.

1) Here are some threads regarding Capital One: -

Capital one settlement, anyone been successful?

Capital One - Anyone have success with them?

2) Ask your settlement company, Credit Solutions, to deal with the collection agencies. When the CAs call you tell them that you're going through debt settlement and ask them to deal with the settlement company, Credit Solutions.

i know it sounds silly but to comment on phoenixs post, my settlement company had a little script that you taped near your phone so that you could not forget what to say. and it said something like this once they stated who they were: Im sorry mr. XX but i connot discuss this account with you im going through xxcompanies settlement program and under my contract i am not at liberty to speak with you. YOu must contact companyx at xxx-xxxx" and hang up on them.

First party creditors depending on where you live don't have to abide by Credit Solutions' power of attorney however once it jumps third party collectors should. Every now and then you'll find a nasty one like Creditor's Exchange who violate every rule in the book. If this happens the only thing you can do is report them and hope something gets done. I would also log all your calls and keep it simple: don't answer the phone. With regards to Capital One settling, they do and are apt I'm sure to settle now but you probably don't have enough funds to do so right now.

I am the original poster I think it logged me as guest instead of my user name.. anyhow...

Enhanced Recoveryis calling us about 30 times a day and when you answer there is no one on the phone. it's very frustrating. i just want to talk to someone so I can tell them what we are doing and they are never on there.

Nco Financial has a recording to wait for the next available representative when they call and my husband sat on there for 5 minutes yesterday and then just hung up. It's frustrating.

they are all a bunch of liers that try to lie and scare you into what they want. I heard them being called bottom feeders and frankly that is what they are.

That was one of my biggest complaints they call you and say please hold for a important message a operator will be with you shortly! yea ok id just hang up. If they want thier money so bad why cant they actually be on the phone when they call you? Its stupid just get a good answering machine and dont talk to them unless you are good and ready
