Hey, I was just wondering how in the world to get out of this mess that I am in. I have 12 payday loans, but can't even get my head above water. I don't want the checks to go back, because I can't risk being taken to court due to my job. A garnishment can cause me to loose my job. I know that if I could just get out from under them I would have money to pay a loan company back. My question is, when you have exhausted everything that you can, what do you do???? Does anyone know of a loan company that I can take a loan from just to get out from under this... Please help!!! I am really getting desperate!!!

Momoftwo: Take a deep breath there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I was/am on the same boat. You need to research this site really well and you can get control back on your own.

You have to close your checking account period, if you open a new one make sure your bank puts a hard ACH hold on it so no one can take money out w/out your authorization.

Next step is to determine which are legal in your state or illegal - are these mostly internet or store front?

If you click on home there is a "sticky" that tells u exactly what you need to do to deal w/illegal PDL's. Do your homework and save some $$. There are a few PDL consolidation companies but its very expensive.

I've been able to do it on my own, again, with some detail work but it sure is helping. This site is awesome.

I am in Tennessee and have been rewriting these stupid things twice a month for almost a year!!!!! It is costing me 790 dollars a month. I can't believe how stupid I have been and have learned my lesson. My problem is, is that if I don't get out from under some of these pretty quick, I could risk loosing my house. I can't borrow from family, been there done that. I can't borrow from a bank or finance company. Like I said before, I have read and learned a lot from this site and know that some of these offer the EPP. My problem is that I can't afford the EPP because it cost 40 dollars more a month to do that. That is money that I don't have. Someone please help me. I am so DESPERATE!!!! If I could get rid of 4 or 5 of these then I could use what I would be spending in fees to start taking care of the remainder of them. Please someone 911!!!!

My best advice is to start with one or two and request the EPP and then continue to re-loan with the others until you can pay them off and then move on to the next loan.

You can go here to see if they are members of CFSA which lets you know if an EPP is possible. Even if they are not members they may still offer it.

If you can not do that then the only other way is to default and then make payment arrangments.

This would require that you close your checking account or put a stop payment on the checks you wrote. Most banks charge a fee of around $30 each.

You can not be charged criminally but they can file a civil case and seek a judgement to garnish. You can only be garnished by one company at a time and only 25% of your paycheck.

If you go to your city court page they may have the civil cases in a database and you can search by name to see if any of these companies take people to court. If they are not found then you may want to choose those to default on as they most likely have inhouse collections to deal with defaults.
