Payday threats

I have recived several messages just today from a collection company claiming that this creditor "Quick Cash international" is filing suit against me in the state of Ohio and California.
I live in Ohio.
First, they could not give me the exact name of the company that I loaned with, nor could give me the number to contact them myself! I was told that they would get them on the phone and call me back in 30 seconds.
I have not been notified by the company regarding the potential suit. I was told by the collection company today that they sent me emails. Of which I checked my trash and junk from the past 2 years and I have nothing.
They now say I owe over $1000.00! and I probably was loaned $300!! And if it goes to court would owe around $5000!
They threatened to call my employer today, as well.
Do I ignore these calls? Can they really garnish my wages? I have been dealing with them since 2007.
I had made complaints with the State of Ohio's Attorney General and I just recieved a letter last week that my complaint could not be settled. and now they are preying on me again!!
Any advice??

First stay calm. They are most likely illegal and can not file a suit even if they wanted to.
I will do some searching and see what I can find out. Other members may have already delt with them and may be along to offer advice.
Hang in there.

Since they are a 3rd party collector, send them a Debt Validation letter. If they cannot validate the debt, there is no further action. If they can validate the debt, you need to then determine the legality of the original creditor. As for the supposed civil suit, this is easy. Most states have an online court records site, go there and search your name. Do this now and call thier bluff next time they call. Generally, you must be served notice by law enforcement or a registered server. If neither of these took place, the odds are there was no suit.

I can not find any info on "Quick Cash international". Do you have any other information or another name?
PDLOwner is correct that in Ohio civil cases and criminal cases are a public record so if you have a case pending or a judgement you can look it up.

"Quick Cash international", is that the name of a pdl company or collection agency? The name itself pretty much says it all "International", what a bunch of crock!
If this WAS a legit company, they would know better than to tell you over the telephone they were taking you to court without first sending you a dunning letter, therefore, my best guess is it's a farce. Empty threats, and that is all it is, they did not follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices. I would report them to the FTC. Probably won't do any good, but it might make you feel better just knowing you DID something. I would also let them know you filed a complaint too.

Hello everyone,
I need some serious advice, I got a loan out through the internet through yes payday loan and I have always paid to renew the loan to buy time i feel like i have over paid, my account closed due to NFS and according to the lady that called me a loan that was once apon a time $345 has added to $700.00 I let her know that financially I was going through tough times, she said that the would be sending a letter for garnishment of wages to my manager on friday and that I would be served to go to court, she said that would cost me more than what she was asking for.

Texas has strict garnishment laws. You can not be garnished for this debt.
Let me check and see if that company is legal in Texas as a payday loan or a CSO.

Is it Yes Payday or Payday Yes?
Payday threats
This is all the information I could get from the guy (they just called again!)
He is an attorney from ACS American Credit Services and they are calling on behalf of "Quick Cash". I am being sued for 3 counts one is violation of contract, did not catch the second because it is hard to understand him, and third for being past due. The loan was taken out in 2007.
I have filed a complaint with the federal trade commission today because of the threat and how rude they were.
I just wanted information so I could contact Quick Cash and find out what I owe myself and the "attorney" said it was too late, unless i pay 1289.00 today they were filing suit on friday in the state of california and ohio.
And my employer is going to be contacted within the next day or so. He knows that I do not have the $$ because he is looking at my credit report and knows that I cannot afford this.
Supposidly I was notified by email??? Of which I went through all my emails from Cash advances and found nothing.
Now if Quick Cash is also MTE, I have a letter from them informing me the account is cleared. But this guy could not tell me that all he knew is that it was quick cash.
I also requested past bank statements today to see if I could sort out who it may be.
For now, I am just not answering my phone!
I just started recieving these calls today! Yesterday I set up payments with United Cash loans and I wish I had not answered thier call either!

I could not find Yes Payday on the Texas database as a payday lender nor a CSO so I am going to say they are illegal.
hriffle, If you can get an address I would send them a debt verification letter. It sounds like the debt was passed off to some sleazy CA.

Payday Yes is definitely illegal in Texas, Texas requires a payday lender to be licensed by your state, and Payday Yes is not, nor are they a CSO. nohiogal is correct!
Let me guess...
Thick East Indian accent...very rude, talks over you, has some personal information(but not all...they hope you give them the rest and verify what they DO have)...whatever! Same thing happened to me a month or so ago. I DID hire an attorney...found out it was all a big scam. These guys have stole and or bought your information and try to use it to extort money from you. There is NOTHING to worry about...although I would definately go through all of the steps same as if your identity was stolen(essentially it was). Contact the attorney general and file a complaint, place fraud alerts on your credit report (usually you only have to file with one, the other two will be notified by the company you reported with), call your bank and make sure they know this is going on, also check your credit report for any fraudulent activity. No need to hire an attorney. I already did, and I am telling you this is a scam. And what they are doing violates every law regarding credit collection tactics. Just hang up.
Wow, that is good information to know. Thanks for posting it.
