Threatening calls from GHS or your creditors? Stopped paying GHS, your creditors, or both?
ghs solution
I just enrolled in GhS program last month and was advised not to talk to creditors. Now I'm worried about the consequence.I don't have other information about this company except from their website and their representative.Does anybody have personal experience that they can share about their debt settlement program.
About GHS
I AM SO FED UP. I THINK GHS ARE CROOKS. THEY HAVE NOT CONTECTED ANY OF MY DEBTORS TO LET THEM KNOW ANYTHING SO WE KEEP GETTING THE PHONE CALLS. I THINK I HAVE HAD A NERVOUS BREAK DOWN. OUR CREDIT WAS PERFECT , JUST TO MANY BILLS AFTER I GOT SICK. I HAVE AN APP. WITH MY ATTORNEY SO I KNOW HE CAN HELP. I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK TO. THIS IS A RIP OFF
thats how it works...
They were ok with us, but my credit was already messed up. The calls do not stop because you enroll in a debt settlement program. They will keep on calling until that account is paid off. All debt settlement programs hurt your credit! I'd rather have messed up credit than pay thousand of dollars more though.

Do Not trust GHS or any other debt program! They are ripoffs!
Do Not trust GHS or any other debt program! They are ripoffs! I was with GHS for 8 months and still got sued for the debt I "thought" they were "taking care of" but weren't! Call your creditors and try to work out something directly with them!
All debt settlement companies are ripoff's. They charge you tho
All debt settlement companies are ripoff's. They charge you thousands of dollars to do something that you can do without paying their fees. Plus if you settle before your accounts charge off (before they get past 6 months past due), it really really saves damage to your credit and prevents legal action.
I am sorry to hear about your bad experinces with debt settlemen
I am sorry to hear about your bad experinces with debt settlement companies. Debt settlement can be a good solution for people who can not pay their unsecured debt as agreed, but do want to settle their debts as best they can. Unfortunately, the debt settlement industry is not yet regulated and there are many unscrupulous debt settlement companies, but there are also many reputable debt settlement companies who provide an excellent service.
How do you know what to look for in a debt settlement company to ensure that you will be recieving the help you need?
1. You should look for a debt settlement company that has attorneys licensed in your home state who will supervise your case. Attorneys negotiate on your behalf to achieve aggressive settlements on your unsecured debt and are experts in the complex Federal and State Consumer Statues. They will uphold your rights under Fair Credit Billing, the Fair Credit Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the rules of professional conduct. In addition, legal techniques are used to achieve the best possible settlement.
2. Is the debt settlement company a member of USOBA? The Unites States Organization Of Bankruptcy Attorneys (USOBA) is the most respected trade assoctiation for the debt settlement industry.
3. Do they conduct an in depth analysis of your financial situation? The only way to determine if debt settlement is right for you is by doing a thorough analysis of your financial situation. The debt settlement company would then be able to advise you if the debt settlement program is a good option for you or not. Many debt settlement companies enroll everyone who consults with them, even if it is not a good choice for that person. So, if they are not conducting an in depth analyis of your situation then they are not looking out for your best interest.
By asking these questions you can be confident that you are doing what you need to do to protect yourself.

No your an idiot for getting on an unregulated blog and believing everything that people who work for credit card companies and consolidation companies write. Its like you want to find out information about Microsoft, and you go to an Apple website. What do you think they are going to say?

I am in no way affiliated with GHS. But, my point is still valid. This website is a consolidate companies forum. They are direct competitors to debt settlement. Again, if you want to find out information about the Democratic Party, and you search Republican websites, what kind of information do you think you will find?

Look, let's be real here. According to the Internet, EVERYONE is a SCAM or rip-off. Every single business out there is made to rip you off and advises you to not pay someone else to do something you can do yourself. In fact, I have read on the Internet where it says that Jesus is a scam. I mean, come on, let's get real. There are good cops and bad cops. Good doctors and bad doctors. Good politicians and.... well, I don't know about that one.
My point is this, the best part of the Internet is that people can vent and express themselves. The bad part is people can vent and express themselves and express themselves and EVERYONE is a "victim". We give too much power to people behind a keyboard who make comments that are not always truthful.
People will tell you not to pay a mechanic to fix your brakes because you can do it yourself. But can you? And, if you do, can you trust that you did it right? Or do you have the time to do it?
Enough of the "do it yourself" talk, we ALL can pull our own teeth when we have a cavity and we all can get up on the roof and replace the roof if we need a new one but not everyone can do it right or has the time.
Stop pretending to be a "victim" and either pay someone to do it or do it yourself. But don't pound on the people who you pay to do a service because things are not perfect. No system and no person is perfect. Debt settlement companies are a good thing if you are aligned with the right company. Not everyone is a scam. Cowboy up and stop being such a big baby and stop crying "victim" because YOU got yourself into crazy debt and now do not know what to do. YOU got yourself into YOUR mess.
That is my 2 cents, for all it is worth.

We are currently working with GHS and have been since 11/07...they have setteled out 5 of our 8 outstanding debts one for 40% of 20K while the begining process is frustrating...collections calling all hours and sending letters it will pay off in the end if you stick with it....You must send GHS ALL the correspondence you are getting for collection agencies so they know who to contact to neg settlements, and you have to realize until you can accumulate funds in your bank to make the settlements GHS can not make an offer on your behalf. You will still have the creditors who will no settle your debt and may take you to court (which we are facing 2moro) so we will see how that works out but for us it has been a blessing we went from paying 1500.00 a month to the creditors and now pay 485.00 to GHS good luck and hope it work out for you
