:( Hi I am new to this consolidation buisness. But I am really stuck with my bills. And I can no longer rent an apartment for my family and I . My question is this. I am currently going through the process of trying to make payment arrangements with a collection agency and have them mail or fax me something stateing that I made arrangements so i can give it the apartment that I am trying to move into. But they wont. Collection agencys are not my friend!!!!! Do you think that by consolidating my bills that I have in collections that is would be considered as payment arrangements? And do you think that the apartment community would accept that??????? Please respond soon!!!!1!1 thank you

Hi crystalbernard2005

Welcome to the forums.

The apartment community may be having their own reasons to determine if they can let you to rent it. However, after you have taken the consolidation program, the consultant will negotiate with the debt collectors and arrange a suitable payment plan.

Once the agreement gets final, you will be offered easy monthly repayments and this will help you in contributing towards your debt account. Thus, you will not only improve your credit standings but also you will have a better financial dignity in front of the apartment community.

Discuss this matter in your counseling and after you feel convinced, puts the accounts in the program. All the best!

Roxette

crystal, collection agencies do NOT have to send you anything in writing explaining payment plans you have with them. however, they CAN do it as a courtesy. also be advised that some (if not most) collection agencies will not work with debt consolidation companies. you'll have to check with those specific agencies yourself first, before entering into any program. also, most agencies can offered you some type of settlement on your debt.
