Can someone refresh my memory???

It's been over a year now since my payday loan nightmare ended. Silly me for thinking I was in the clear!
This morning, a Mr. John Edwards (with a distinctly foreign accent) called me at WORK! He said he was calling from a law firm regarding a criminal matter that would be filed in court tomorrow (on a saturday?) against me on behalf of an internet payday loan company.
The name of his law firm? Crime Monitor Division!
He wouldn't give me the address until I persisted (they're in CA, I'm in FL) and said his firm represented American Credit Services . However, he couldn't tell me the exact name of the payday company in question!
When I went through the whole "what you're doing is illegal...I know you're not calling from a law firm...payday loans are illegal in FL... he asked me; "Who told you all of that?" He didn't like hearing that I was "an informed, well-educated individual" and began berating me!
Although it was an entertaining conversation, I am extremely annoyed that the calls have started again. I still recognize the names of some of the amazing individuals that are on this forum and who provide such great assistance so - can anyone refresh my memory as to the type of form letter I need to send these bozos so they will stop harassing me at work, threatening me with wage garnishing and the like?
Any information about American Credit Services would be greatly appreciated as well!
Thanks guys!

i wouldn't even talk to him further.i'll see what i can come up with as far as american credit services, but i'm guessing it's a name he made up.he is in INDIA and can do nothing.they more than likely bought or got your info from one of the pdl's.just give your HR person a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter.that should take care of that.

Well, I work for a government agency so the payroll department is nearly impenetrable! But, how did these morons in India get their hands on my information regarding a couple of internet payday loans from YEARS ago? It's not like they have a current bank account number...I cancelled the one associated with those loans during my first round with the payday loan scammers.
If I remember correctly, payday companies ask for your SSN when you apply. Could they have gotten their hands on that too?

They are probably a junk debt collecter. They buy up old debt that companies have written off for pennies on the dollar and then harrass and threaten people to get them to pay.

The same thing happened to me today, I also work for a government agency. I was called at the office. I phone the Attorney Generals office and my local police to report the scam. I also cancelled my bank cards just in case.
