I just spoke with a person from AT&T (about this fiasco with a cellphone bill which was sold to JD Enterprises). She claims that the SOL starts *again* once the bill is sold to JD.

Is this true? So a bill from 2001 starts all over again each time the debt is sold? (I found out it has been sold to 2 other companies before JD bought it).

They are also "willing" to settle with me for half of the debt... but, as I said before, if the SOL actually is past, then I won't give those parasites a penny.

Can anyone tell me the validity of this please?

Thank you!

Patti

NO...that is untrue. SOL starts at the date of last payment. Depending on the state you live in, a payment after it had expired could reset it (IL). And there are 17 states where it would take a written acknowledgement and promise to pay to reset SOL. AT&T is not known for hiring the brightest people in the world.

Awesome. Thank you again. As I stated before, last payment made was June 6, 2001.

I am *so* going to enjoy telling these buttplugs that they can't do jack... not so bad for a "welfare trailer trash single mother", eh?

I am *so* writing the letter in crayon on TP (with a copy of the letter from AT&T too). Certified, of course =)
