I received a call from a Sam Cobbs that I am in a serious situation but no details were given. The number he asked me to call was 800-664-0596 but the number on my caller id was 904-430-0462. Doing an internet search I came up with Adelphia but can't figure out what this is about. I do have outstanding payday loans but have filed for chap 7 bankruptcy.

My wife used to work for them. Adelphia Business Solutions (ABS) was the telecommunications subsidiary of the Adelphia Cable Company (yes the one who's founder and sons plundered the company and recently were sentenced to federal jail time).

ABS was a a CLEC telephone carrier, providing local and long distance phone and data services to business. As far as I know, that division of Adelphia was shut down when Adelphia filed for bankruptcy, its been about 2 or three years now.

I looks like maybe you found some old information on the internet.

I'll keep looking for accurate details. I passed the message on to my atty's secretary who called back and they were very rude to her and wouldn't give her any details on who they were representing or anything else.

I suspect if Adelphia Business Solutions has anything to do with your account. They should not have got rude on the secretary if they had genuine reasons.

Ask your lawyer to draft a letter and give reasons for calling you up. People at Adelphia need to be professional, not scumbags

Adelphia Business Solutions Went bankrupt in 2002. Most of their assets were liquidated. What wasnt liquidated was retained by the Adelphia Cable Company. The phone number that came accrss may have been an Adelphia contact at one time, but has since probably been re assigned to someone else.

As a matter of fact if you try to do a search for Adelphia Business Solution on andy of the directory pages (any who, super pages, dex, etc) your search comes back item not found.

This number was re-assigned by Qwest in 2005. You could try calling Qwest and asking them who the number is assigned to, or as Matt suggested in an earlier post, call the number and ask them what they want.
