So, if you do not sign when you send the DV is that going to cause any problems?
2nd-the mailing instruction says to not use stamps? Why not? I print my labels from the USPS site so I don't, but I'm curious why not using stamps is listed.

Not putting a signature stops exactly that. You do not want a corrupt debt collector forging your name onto something. If something is out of the statute of limitations, there is a greater chance of that happening.
It will not cause any problems. All you have to do is type your name or just initial it. On court documents when you are sued by a debt collector you have to sign your name, same thing, just initial it.
For mailing you want the green card with a signature so if you end up having to go to court, you can subpoena the person who signed for it. Also it shows proof a document was mailed. What I do is for the second page of a DV letter I photocopy the green card filled out before it was signed. This way you have a before and after of what was mailed.
Signature Fraud
That is a very good point. These days you can be assured that Lawyers do not play by the Ethics rules only the Greed rules with the governments blessings. Laws allow them to attempt to collect a debt. Laws neglect the uninformed and ignarance is unjustly Rewarded...I read that somewhere.

For your signature, change the font to a script. Then there will be no issue of forgery. As far as not using stamps, when you drop your CMRRR off at hte PO, you are paying the postage for the green card as part of the whole price. Right now $5.21 which should go up a few cents next month.

Follow up question. How long does it take the post office to return the green card? I have one CMRRR that was delivered March 2nd. It's been a week but I have not received the green card yet. This is the 1st CMRRR I've ever sent so not sure how long I should wait before going to the post office to question it.

A week has been the average for me from initial mailing til the green card is returned. I always track mine online and once the website is updated, I usually get the greencard back around 3 days after it's signed for.

I should add that if you check online and it is updated that it was delivered or picked up by whoever you sent it to, if you do not get the green card back after a week or so go to the post office and request information on it.
Sometimes they can tell you who signed for it if you do it in time.
