I have a creditor threatening to attach my checking account. My credit score is below 500 now (was 750 3 months ago). I live in Florida. I'm exempt but really would like to avoid having to go through the legal hassle of reversal. My questions:

How do the creditors know where I bank? I realize from my payment history they would have my regular account, but how would they find any other accounts I may have?

Does anyone know of a bank in Florida where I can open an account with a really low credit score but no bad Chexsystems transactions?

Would they be able to find an account opened under my name (sole proprietor) but using my business Federal Employer ID #?

I need a checking account to pay fees associated with my business plus I sometimes have clients request their tax returns deposited in my account then write them a check less my fees.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm in Marion County Florida. I was under the impression that all banks run a credit check. I may be wrong.

I'm thinking about having a friend I can trust open an account in their name at a bank I have no previous business with and giving me Power of Attorney over that account. This way my social or FEIN isn't attached to that account but I'll have the debt card and checkbook to use as needed with the power.

If it comes to the point of me filing BK, I will fully disclose to the BK court the checking account and all monies deposited into it that belong to me. I'm not looking to defraud anyone, as I'm exempt on many levels in Florida from attachment. My bank account is the only thing they can attach and I can get reversed but we're living day to day and an attachment of whatever little I do make will just cause total devastation.
