My first call from a default lender
Date: Tue, 03/10/2009 - 07:03
From: NLS cash advance / Sign my loan.com / Cash advance mail.com (all one in the same)
The vm was fairly nice the asked for me to call or email an arrangement?
My question is what steps to take.
1. should I listen to what they have to say.
2. should I tell them I will be sending a C & D letter
3. let it go for now and wait until it goes to collection
4. send a C & D trough email or reg mail?
Loan amount was $325 I have paid $394 to date

Well they are really calling now!
Both United cash loans & US fast cash called. Told them I am working on a few things and I will get back to them soon.
An earlier post I did someone (guest) said that both of these are on Indian tribes and I cannot use the C&D / debt valid etc..

I would send them the C & D letter certified mail. I would not talk to them. When they call tell them you need everythiong in writing and then hang up. That ias what I have been doing--of course I am no expert at this. I am walking through this day by day.

i replied to your other thread (please try to keep posts to one thread, it makes it easier for us to help you). i am not sure if it is exempt but i would send the c & d certified anyway, just in case you can.
what state are you in? are these loans even legal for you? if they are not legal, it can be handled a bit differently, you would pay what you borrowed but would be able to do so in your terms.
but if they are legal they can sue you and to at least some extend you would have to listen to them.
bea2ls, Sorry for the dbl post...just anxious. I am in Illino

I am in Illinois and I was told once before they are illegal but then someone posted that because of being on Indian Res. the same laws do not pertain.

urrrlacher, have you talked to IL DFI? I would.. just to get the absolute answer to your question. IL DFI Would be able to tell you if your loans are legal or not.

They say they are exempt but they would have to step off the tribal land to sue so they won't.
When they call tell them to contact you only via email or USPS and hang up on them.
They have your info and the letters state to only contact you that way so stick to your guns. You want every thing on paper and documented.
