Ok, I keep getting calls from 716-563-3244. As far as I can tell this is a NY cell phone. They called 2x last night but did not leave a message. I just called the number and some guy answered Goldstein and Rath.

About a week ago, some guy called from this number and left a message to call another number and refer to my case number 999-99-9999. Which is my social security number. He must have known that was a social security number. Somehow this doesn't seem right. My cell phone message doesn't state that it is me it is just generic message.

Anyone else get this type of call?

It is probably against the GLBA for them to leave your SSN on anyone's voicemail other than your own. .... But they would have actually had to leave it on someone else's VM.

It's easy to theorize that "they didn't know whose VM it was." But the fact is they did leave it on your voicemail and not someone else's. So there really is no violation of any privacy laws.

A complaint has been filed with the New York Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission against Sara Morgan and Goldstein & Roth for misrepresenting themselves as a Law Firm, as well as sharing private debt information with persons other than the person to whom the debt belongs to, as well as calling outside of reasonable hours of business operations

They have been calling me non-stop as well!! Yesterday I get a calll saying she is Dee (forgot what her last name was) but she sounded just like Sarah Morgan and I have talked to Sarah numerous times so I think I know her voice.. They are threatening to have my checks garnished.. I'm recently recovering from having the swine flu and my mother has been having mini strokes and this has really made me a nervous wreck.

I also got a call from them regarding a credit card from 2 years ago. But I dont agree with all of you. I wanted to pay my debt, I was out of work on disability for 2 years and the fact that my debts were not being paid actually bothered me, I lost sleep over it and would often regret my past due accounts. After the first call from sara I called my original creditor and verified they now own the debt then I did a google search and found this so I was afraid to call them and waited in the mean time sara did call me again and offered me a few options. She listened to everything I had to say and gave me an arrangement that I could afford. I did not have a negative experience with them but then again I wanted to pay my bill maybe thats the difference.

OK, shill, read this slowly. Nobody here is saying that people shouldn't pay their debts. But we are 100% against being pushed around, lied to, swindled, or taken advantage of. The laws in this country work both ways. Don't believe me? Google 'ftc vs camco'.

Feel up to a little social engineering?

Go to a pay phone. Call them up, without giving any names, and tell them you want to send a cashier's check to pay off a relative's account with them, but you need the address of their payments department. Verify the address they give you, thank them for their time, and tell 'em you'll send it out in a day or two.

Then turn the address to the BBB, and fire off a DV letter to them yourself. Then post the address here. No sense in wasting a good mad.
