Settled w/GE Capital now LVNV wants the balance!

Well, there was a settlement agreed to and paid by CNI on my behalf to the collection law firm that was collecting on it. This was in January of this year. Thought that would be the end of it.
Well, now I've got a dunning letter from Central Credit Services trying to collect for LVNV on what would be the difference between what the settlement was and what the original balance was!
So it looks like GE Capital sold it off to LVNV after our settlement!
Any advice besides send the DV to Central Credit?

Hi arb,
No DV is necessary, it's not valid. Send them a copy of the settlement letter and the paid letter and be done with it.

If the settlement offer did not stipulate that the remaining balance could not be sold, then they have that right to sell it. EVERYTHING has to be in writing!

That's what I'm slightly worried about, that the wording isn't good enough to prevent them selling it. It was settled by CNI when I was still in their program. I withdrew from CNI in Jan so I could put the fees I was paying towards my debt. So I guess they won't be helping me.
I've sent the DV and sent them copies of everything and disputed the balance showing on my credit reports.
Guess this is one I'll go to court over if it gets to that point. I'm not paying LVNV anything on this one unless I'm forced to...
