I live in Indiana and have 4 payday loans...they are:

Paydaymax.com $293.10 owed (orig loan $300) 01/09
unitedcashloans.com $455.00 owed (orig loan $350) 2/09
paid $105.00 in march 09
oneclickcash.com $390.00 owed (orig loan $300) 2/09
paid $90.00 march 09
500fastcash.com $455.00 owed (orig loan $350) 2/09
paid $105.00 in march 09

I am a retiree with a pension I receive monthly. I've read about securing my bank account and sending an ACH revocation letter to the PDLs but need to know if these PDL's are legal in Indiana or not. Would I need to also get in touch with my pension board ( RR Retirement Board) so the PDLs dont try and garnish my pension.
If the illegal PDL's threaten me at all, do I just ignore them? And please refresh my mind on who else to send letters to...BBB etc. And are there samples of these? Thank you for any help. I will never fall for the trap of a PDL again, it just gets you in deeper and deeper and now I'm behind on other bills anyway.
:(

From my experiance all of those PDLs are illegal. PDLs must be licensed in the state of IN and none of those have a license.

You only owe back the amount borrowed. Any interest payments or rollover fees are included in that amount.

Here are the steps that you need to follow when dealing with illegal lenders.

The first step is to close your account and then to send out the letters. DO NOT send out the letters until your account is secure.

Have you considered talking to an attorney. Most will give free consultations. And if push came to shove - which I doubt with these companies, but just in case - I'd rather stand in front of a judge and say "I acted on the advice of attorney so-and-so" than "I went on this blog that's part of a site that sells leads to debt settlement companies and some really nice, but completely anonymous, people told me that . . ."

thank you guest.if you don't like this forum.get off of it.nobody claims to be a lawyer.although alot of bottomfeeders claim to be lawyers.ipdl's are illegal for the most part in indiana and more than likely won't take legal action.
