I received a call from one of their representatives following the same scheme as the ones stated above. I spoke with my lawyer regarding what happened and she stated that you can not have criminal charges filed against you for consumer debt. they can file suit against you in court to garnish your wages, or sue you for the money, but it is illegal and against the Fair Debt collection practices act for them to falsly accuse you of committing a crime, threaten you with jail time, state that you have broken a law, deny you legal council, as my representative did when he told me that I did not have time to call my lawyer. They also said that they represented a governement agency (sherrifs dept, or atty generals office) and since I had filed bankruptcy on my debt a year ago, they broke the law by contacting me and trying to collect a debt that was included in the bankruptcy...I suggest contacting an attorney if these calls persist. They are illegal and I hope that each one of you reports this collection agency to the Better Business Bureau (they also have an address on file for this company) and also report them to the FCC...the governent agency who monitors these companies.
If they continue with their blatantly illegal collection practices it is well within your rights to sue them.
Please become informed with the Fair debt collection practices act and know your rights.

i too,had a call from these people.they are calling my in law's,my parent's. they told my mother-in-law,that they would be "serving" me in every county i have lived in.I know that this check-n-go loan was paid off.not to mention this had to be from 6 years ago.i have not even lived in the county where this is supposedly owed for 6 years. i have gotten nothing before now,in regard to oweing anything to anyone.NEVER give out any info!! I think this is a scam, and you can only be served with a summon's to appear in court, not jailed! then if you don't appear, the court can get a judgement against you,and garnish your wage's if they pursue it. KNOW your law's,and And NEVER give out any info.
