TN law states that as long as the PDL is licensed in another state they are legal to lend in TN.
GECC is a member of CFSA so they must be licensed somewhere.

gecc funds loans for cashdirectexpress online.i had trouble with cashdirectexpress and they rwfused to set up a payment plan for me.instead they sent my account to collections with alliance asset management a very nasty collection agency.i sent a complaint to cfsa and they called me and said they forwarded my complaint to gecc but that cashdirectexpress was not a member of cfsa, they were just funded by gecc.cashdirect express and gecc are out of deleware.

That was my message above I was not signed in,just wondering, how do we access the Deleware database regarding licenses?I see it mentioned about checking the database, how do we do that?cashdirect express is funded by GECC but I have not been able to find if cashdirectexpress is licensed in DEleware and the collection agency never responded to my debt verification letter.

Thank you, cash direct express is not on the list!I had borrowed from them in December before the laws changed in PA and that meant the company had to be licensed out of the state they are in which is DEleware. The CFSA told me cashdirectexpress was funded by GECC but thast they were not the same company.Does that mean cashdirectexpress was illegal lender for me> My loan was for $400 and I paid $324.I offered to pay the remaining $76 but they refused.I received no respose from my DV I sent to the collection agency AAM.

They have to licensed somewhere, does not have to be delaware for the PA law.
I would do some searching and see if you can find were cashdirectexpress is located in another other state.
Alot of times PDL companies secure their funds from someone else
Alot of times PDL companies secure their funds from someone else with a completely different name. I could be wrong but I believe PA law at that time stated they just had to be licensed in any state. For example Sonicpayday.com is an illegal lender but they are funded by Northway Financial, Think Cash though not a payday loan is funded by First Bank of Delaware. I dont think who funds them really matters.
The cashdirectexpress office is in Deleware, does that matter?

Does that make cashdirectexpress licensed if GECC is? CFSA said
Does that make cashdirectexpress licensed if GECC is? CFSA said cashdirectexpress is not a member of the CFSA although GECC is.Also just 1 more question, the collection agency for cashdirectexpress never responded to my DV letter, how long does it take for them to reply and what if they never do?thanks,Wendy

GECC is the parent company and are one in the same as Cash Direct Express. I had difficulty with them also. When I had them provide me with a name and address for which to send a money order to, they gave me GECC which in my book means they are GECC NOT Cash Direct Express. I am in Arizona so neither one has a license as the only license is with Deleware state.
Since both company names were illegal in Arizona, I threatened both BBB and CFSA complaints. My balance was marked PIF the next day.
Don't let CFSA fool you. I had to call 3 different times. Cash Direct Express and GECC are one in the same, you can even print so off Cash Direct Express website - Look at your contract, GECC is the one who entered contract so they have to follow CFSA rules.
Hope this helps!

I had a loan with gecc and had already paid the principal and was starting to pay more when I came across this site, I sent them a cease and desist letter and a informed them they were not legal to lend in Texas, about a week later they responded back and they said they did'nt agree with me but marked my account "PAID in FULL", the lady I dealt with was named Tracy Watson she was very helpful and polite.

TN law is different then TX law.
TX law requires the lender to be licensed in the state and TN does not. They only require that the lender be licensed in at least one US state which GECC is in DE.
