Hi Wendy

Can you give us some more information about this company? BBB lists multiple companies with similar names. But none of the listed companies offer credit. So, some more information from your side will be quite helpful. Do you know where are they located?

Have you asked the company to give you an itemized statement of the past debt? If you owe to them, paying off the debt will improve your credit worthiness.

Do not let your accounts go to the collections otherwise, things will become even tougher to handle. I suggest you to talk to the company and work out a payment plan. But you will make this arrangement after they have given you an itemized statement. This way, you will get the complete details about your account.

Wendy,

This collection agency is not listed with the BBB. Although they have large number of consumer complaints filed against them, but they had been responsive to many. I suggest you to request for a debt validation letter in writing so that you get the accurate picture of the debt account.

Here is the address to contact the company:

Academy Collection Service, Incorporated
10965 DeCatur Road
Philadelphia, PA 19154
Philadelphia County

(215) 281-7500
(215) 320-0424
(866) 227-0605
(215) 281-7512 (FAX)

Also make sure that you do all your correspondence in writing. This way you will have proof of the actions taken from your side.
