I was not able to pay a payday loan off from Check n Go in Texas due to husband's employment, and now this law firm is saying they will garnish my wages. Is this true? They even faxed over a verfication of employment to my job, but it looks very fishy and my boss does not want to sign it. Please Help.

They cannont garnish your wages without a court order but they are a legal licensed lender and they can and will take you to court if you do not try and make some kind of arrangements with them. However they can present your company with a wage assignment so make sure you send to your payroll department a brief letter stating that you are revoking any and all wage assignments they may receive.

i am a collector but i actually follow the rules. I also work with people and collect a different kind of debt that requires customer service. Anyhow, i''m telling you this because I know about your rights. In Texas, you are pretty much judgement proof. They cannot garnish your wages, cannot lien your properties or assets nor lien your bank accounts. If they threaten to do so, advise them that they better go ahead and do it because if they don't they are violating the FDCPA. You can advise them to stop harrasing you or you will file a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the State attorney Generals Office and when you win because of this clear violation, the collector themself are responsible to pay the first 10k. I don't think they are willing to to take it that far. Also they will be required to erase your debt if you win. Enjoy the info. I can answer any other questions u have : )

They used to be called PMI associates, and then changed their name to PMR law group when everyone found out they were a scam. Their old website is not working, but they bacically changed their name and kept the same website. They will threaten you will all kinds of scary stuff but they are just scamming you. I speak from experience as they threatened to send the cops to my house if I did not pay and I'm still here.

I was contacted by these people at work also. They said that Cashnet a payday loan company who was scamming me, I might add, was going to file a lawsuit, garnsih my wages, put a lein in my home, if I didn't pay immediately, within one week. They were very convincing...So I paid $100 immediately and then this person made me agree to pay $320 a month for 3 months...I can't afford that. I will pay them $50 a month, but I can't afford more. What can I do? SHould I call them? Will they cooperate or will they really do somehting to me?

I have had these people threaten and harrass me in every way possible... except threatening bodily harm. I have had indications of being arrested, having wages garnished and having leins placed on my house and car. These people will not give me too much information about my account. This is what you need to do... go online and google the FDCPA violations. Know the rules and regulations when you speak with these uneducated people. This will give you information on what a joke this company is and how they don't know anything. I supposedly spoke with Johnathon Bond who says he is a lawyer (He is associated with the BAR in only three states). If you know enough information of what the guidelines are, it will scare them. Another bit of info, after 4 years, a debt is out of the Statute of Limitations meaning you DO NOT have to pay it. After seven years, it will fall off of your credit. Keep a log of every phone conversation and record the conversations if you can. I have done this and will counter sue the company for what I have paid so far ($400) plus attorney fees, court costs, and so on. DO NOT allow these people to bully you!!! Another thing, I know that in the state of Texas, you can pay a collection agency $1 per month for the rest of your life and they have to accept it. They will report to the credit agency as a slow pay but that is all. These people work off of commission and behave this way to make their income. These people do not have any tact or work ethic!!!

I have been dealing with this company as well. Like a previous poster, I agreed to terms as well, but what I tried to work out, they couldn't supposedly accept. So I closed my account and they sent me a letter in the mail saying they "may report me to my local D.A. for criminal prosecution". It is my understanding, however, that in the state of Texas, an agency cannot file criminal charges against a consumer for a payday loan. Any more info on PMR however?

scam, scam, scam. either hang up on them or play around with them telling you'll pay and never send them a dime. After I found out they were a fraud I now call them and play all sorts of pranks on them and they hate it.

this company is a bunch of scam artist nothing more. they claim they are a law office and are taking you to court. here is a tip for all of you cause i know how your feeling, they called me too. call their bluff and ask them when the court date is. mark that day on your calander so you remember when it is. that day will come and go just as any other will. and NOTHING is going to happen. you have to be processed & served before any hearing date. if you get a call from these jerks call the attorney general in your state and report it. i called my states a.g. and they said there are so many complaints already it's just a matter of time before this agency folds and has to close it's doors. they are actually under investigation now. please be smart and stop giving our your bank account numbers over the phone. even if you really know that you owe the bill, the money that you give them is NOT being applied to it. its going right into their pockets. i gave them my money because i knew i owed it. not only did they over draft my account because they took out more then they were supposed to before the date we agreed on but a month afer i paid them another place was calling me saying they were taking me to court for the same account. they are filth and it makes me sick to my stomach what they are getting away with. I WAS A FOOL AND FELL FOR THEIR SCAM. DON'T DO THE SAME THING!!!

save the letter that they faxed to your employer. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO DO IT. i suggest you get an attorney and file your own suit. that letter alone should be worth a few thousand. and record any conversations that you have with them. its amazing how stupid they are and the things that they say over the phone to strong arm you.

i am a collector but i don't practice the way these fools do. statute does not run out in 4 years. it depends on the state laws when a debt is not collectable. collectors call this OOS ((out of stat)) most states range anywhere for 4 years to 15 years. they also DO NOT have to take a $1 a month payment on any type of debt except medical. all medical collectors have to accept any amout of minimum payment you are able to do on a consistant basis. credit cards, personal, auto, and student loans can sue you whenever they feel you are not holding up your end of the contract you signed.

I have been contacted by PMR Law Group they even emailed me a document stating a Legal Affidavidt of Repayment for the District of Maryland. The document states that it is for Theft of Goods & Services between me and PRG & Associates (Quick Cash, Inc.) for a payday loan, I don't even remember. They said if I don't pay them 510.00 they would send this to the county I live in for processing. Is this a legit company and can they do this?
