I have 7 payday loans and each was for $200 to $300. When I went into my account and added the amounts I can see that I have paid them and more. I have tried to close my account but my bank won't let me and I have racked up over $1500 of NSFs. I have asked if I can put a hard ACH block on my account and they will not let me. They say the only way to do that if this was fraud. I don't know what to do. I have tried to call the PDL companys but no luck and they are keeping on putting different amounts thru my account. I need help. I am stressing out.

Guest, Have you went to the bank manager and dicussed the situation?

I would be honest and tell them you have some payday loans that you have discovered are illegal (fraud) and that they continue to withdrawl funds even after you have paid the loan.(fraud)

Maybe if they get the whole story they will be willing to help more.

I have told them I had a payday loans and I have paid them but they continue to withdraw money out. They told me to try to contact them and they have to stop it on their end. They said the only thing they can do is put a stop payment on the amounts but not on the company. Because of these companys I have over a thousand dollars of NSF fees. I am on my last rope with these bank.

You might also want to inform the bank manager that New Jersey law specifies the penalty for unlicensed lenders making loans to NJ residents is forfeiture of the principal amount! You are under no legal obligation to pay the lender. Morally, this is another story. But it appears you have paid back the principal in full with outrageous PDL fees. New Jersey law also sets a 30% per annum usury cap on all small loans. Once, you get clear of this mess, please give Bank of America the boot. They are the absolute worst.
