outside of calling your creditor and asking, there really is not much you can do unless you shop around for a better % and do a balance transfer.?? This is a problem for everyone now even people with good credit thier % are going up too.?? so you are not alone, outside of just paying it off we are just left to deal with it.

I've heard u can just call your CC company and ask them to reduce the rate. Has anyone tried this or know if it works? If so, what do you say to them?

you just call and say that you were looking over your various credit card statments and noticed that this particular card is much higher than your other cards, and do you qualify to have your interest rate lowered.?? If they say I am sorry, no, then you should ask if there is any penalty if you do a balance transfer to another card, because you were sent a promotional flyer about a low or zero??interest balance transfer with no fees??from Capital 1 or some other company.?? Normally if you have a high balance on the card, and are only paying the minimums, they often will NOT offer you a lower APR.?? But if you are using the card a lot, and paying it down a lot every month, they are more likely to do so.?? Everytime I have asked after using the card a lot (over a couple of months) and paying down a lot, the answer was yes.?? The times I was "drawering" a card and hardly using it nor paying it down a lot, the answer was no.?? That is what worked for me anyway, good luck!
