Smaller CC Debts (under 1,000) and approaches

I have 3 cc debts to clean up. All are in collection
1. HSBC now Redline 980
2. First Premier 800
3. Credit 1 /First Marin 560
I have sent First Premier an offer for 264
HSBC and credit One are in Validation
When dealing with such relatively small amounts (for the companies --not for me) what is usual/possible?
Are they more or less motivated to settle on a smaller amount given the size of the debt?
Does my pursuing it make their going to a suit more or less likely?

Usually ( not always, however) companies will settle or less. They just figure they will get SOMETHING out of it, if not the 'FULL' amount. Have you send letters, etc.?

The smallest ones are the biggest pain in the butt in my experience anyhow.?? they look at it like its such a small amount they dont wnat to settle.?? I would think it was the other way around, but its not.??
