I filed a complaint with the FTC and never heard one word from them. I am sure this agency has suffered the same budget cuts as others and may be unable to respond to everyone who files with them.

The FTC will not contact you regarding your complaint nor will they advise you of its progress even if you ask. They keep everything internal unless they need a statement or deposition. I filed a complaint against Route 66 Funding and was contacted a couple of weeks later and told to keep it confidential as not to alert Route 66 about the investigation. That group which included Big Ltd and GFSIL were operating out of the UK and were taken down in a joint effort between the FTC and British officials. It took 18 months. The FTC bases their handling of a complaint on how many others they receive. Just be patient and know that you did the right thing and eventually it will have results.

thanks, I kind of was hoping no news was good news, do you think the person who calls continually and doesn't leave a company name I should file a complaint on them. I am guessing it is one of the payday loan companies, but I am also going through a debt reduction plan as well. I guess it probably doesn't matter who it is, they call about every other day and leave a message, they probably call more often and just don't leave the message. Ok may be thinking on a blog.

I actually have gotten responses from them. they were usually generic but gave me a confirmation number, an explanation that they collect info against companies and advice on who else to file with (usually the attorney general's office, but they are useless in my state).
for my "officer sean clark" calls, the FTC wrote back and told me to contact the local police, FBI and attorney general's office.
