DMP stressing me out.

:? I am 5 months in on a 48 month DMP. I have 30k on the program. My problem is that while my interest was reduced on all my accounts, the minimun amount required only $125 less a month than the amount I could not afford in the first place. I have a security clearance to maintain that's why I did not do a settlement program, I can't have more than $5000 in collections at any given time. I think bankruptcy is treated the same. Is there any other law enforcement professsionals who know of any programs that would be allowed and not void the security clearance or anyone else who may have information on this subject. Can anyone help?

Sorry I'm not in law enforcement so I can't help with the "rules
Sorry I'm not in law enforcement so I can't help with the "rules", but I can chime in a agree with you that DMP, is not very helpful for most folks. Most DMP work for the credit card companies, its no wonder the payments aren't reduced that much.
Many folks try DMP's and fail, its really to bad, as most folks want to pay back what they owe, its just that there is NO real help for honest folks who have fallen on hard times. Other than filling BK, and that's not all that helpful these days, since most folks are forced to file Chapter 13 and make payments to the trustee for 3-5 years.
