I OWE MONEY TO THE GAS COMPANY AND I HAVE BEEN PAYING 10.00-20.00 PER MONTH. NCO IS THE SECOND CA THAT HAS MY DEBT. I HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED THEM AND HAVE CALLED THEM BACK WHEN THEY CALL ME. NO ONE HAS SAID THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS AGREEMENT BUT THEY JUST KEEP ON CALLING WITH THE SAME QUESTIONS AND I GIVE THEM THE SAME ANSWERS. THEY ALWAYS SAY THAT THE CONVERSATION IS BEING RECORDED SO I INFORMED THEM THAT I WAS RECORDING THE CONVERSATION, ALSO. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT SPEAK TO ME IF I WAS RECORDING THE CONVERSATION AND PROCEDED TO END THE CALL. WHY IS IT THAT THEY ALWAYS RECORD OR SAY THEY ARE RECORDING THE CONVERSATIONS WHEN THEY CALL ME BUT WON'T LET ME RECORD THE CONVERSATIONS? DO THEY HAVE SOMETHNG TO HIDE AND CAN THEY JUST KEEP ON CALLING ME EVERYDAY AFTER WE HAVE ALREADY SPOKEN WITH EACH OTHER SO MANY TIMES AND THAT I ALSO SENT THEM A LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT THE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS I HAD WITH THE LAST CA, ETC.


NCO is one of the worst collection agencies out there, so tread carefully. Excellent strategy, continue to tell them that you are recording the call; or don't answer the phone when they call.

I don't know what's up with these CAs who continue to harass you after payments arrangements have been made.

And file a complaint with the FTC.

Actually..DON'T Tell them you are recording!!! If they say they are recording, then you have the right to record as well since there is already two party consent to record. Just make sure you get on the recording that they are recording, then you are golden.

If they don't say they are recording, you can ask if they are recording, if they say yes, then you can record as well without informing them of this.

If they say they are not, then you will have to say you are recording, but if they refuse, then simply keep that recording that they refuse, how ever many you get...will go a long way to show a court that they look highly suspicious that they refused to speak while being recorded.
