So, anybody out there have any thoughts on what state agency might get Check Advance's parent company, CompuCredit, to stop this behavior in Wisconsin:

Inactive customers - don't owe Check Advance a thing - getting multiple calls daily at home offering them 50% off if they come in for a new loan. Several of these inactive customers have told the caller to stop calling them, have called the corporate office to tell them to stop calling them, and have called their local store to tell them to stop calling them. Doesn't do a bit of good, the calls keep coming. Plus they toss in multiple mass mailings for good measure.

Delinquent customers, who are on valid, signed payment agreements getting multiple calls daily (sometimes 6 within 3 hours) from CompuCredit Collections simply in an attempt to get them to pay more than the signed, valid payment agreement calls for.

I realize CompuCredit is getting desperate, considering their stock price is in the toilet, but there has to be some sort of defense for former customers to get them to stop their harrassment.

Thoughts?

You can file a complaint with the DFI but I would also contact the dept of ag,trade and consumer protection

http://datcp.state.wi.us/

If I remember right you can call them and they will send you a form.

If you are really ticked off you can contact the dept of justice. I have been told that if we (WI residents)want change in the pdl industry that we should write letters to the DOJ and that the letters do get read and if enough are sent then they will consider a hearing on the conserns. Just a thought. But I would write to all 3. Because if you complain to the AG they will just turn it over to the DFI anyway.

Also check out google's new voice service which will allow you to block callers on the fly... this has helped me stop the calls at 7, 8, and 9 in the morning on the weekends and weekdays.
