Boy - I can't seem to get Citi down at all -- they are stuck at 55% - I'm 120 out - shouldn't they be a little closer to the 35% most others are accepting?

I talk to them monthly - it's about 120 days -- you told them you need a year to pay === did you pay 55% or did they lower it? I won't work with a settlement company - I have two card one is with citi bus and the other is with a collector now (but is a citi) - still 55% - - makes me mad they got all that money for the govt - and not passing any of the saving on.

I can't really change the balance to another card - because this one is already 4 months -- I don't want to start a new clock - trying to get the all tanked and settled in a small time frame to limit the damage to me credit. If I had known better I would have put it all on my BOA im hearing they are settleing real low.

Citi sent me a settlement offer in the mail for 60% (40% off the total balance). I am somewhere around the 60 day mark, depending upon how you calculate the past due days. It was unsolicited as I've never mentioned settlement to them at all. But I do talk to them almost every week as they call pretty relentlessly.

I think next week, I'll try to start negotiating the settlement figure and see how it goes.

yeah - I"ve received those letters - and I don't think they will ever go below 60% in writing like that - but it's a start and try to negotiate from there. I have two citi's - one is still with citi and one at about three months when to a dcc - who are offering about 45% or so.
