Original foreclosure 'Deed under Power' recorded April 2008. 'Affadavit In Support of Title' recorded Jan 2009, asserts clerical error in the name of the subdivision.
"Corrective" deed re-recorded March 2009.

My credit card company saw this as a new foreclosure and closed my account. I was then denied credit with another company. All three CRAs show the March 2009 date.

I'd originally planned to go the DV letter-dispute route.

But since there's a verifiable error, and it appears some actual harm under FCRA, is there a better way to handle this?

The first thing you need to do is dispute the entrys with the credit reporting agencies. There is a good chance that it will not be validated. Should it be you will have to file a suit, preferably with an attorney for violations of the FCRA. Unfortunately this will not help your credit for a long while. If you can get a secured credit card and pay it earlt every month that will help you a great deal. Your local bank is your best friend when it comes to repairing your credit.
